Cristián Andrés de la Fuente Sabarots was born on March 10, 1974, in Santiago, Chile. He began his career in Chile, initially being discovered by a talent scout while pursuing a civil engineering degree at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Early in his career, he appeared in Chilean telenovelas such as “Eclipse de Luna” and “La Tía de Carlos,” and hosted variety programs like “Venga Conmigo” and “Generación 2000.” In 1998, he expanded his work to the United States, appearing in the drama series “Reyes y Rey” for Sony and Telemundo, and later as a guest star on “Pensacola: Wings of Gold.”
De la Fuente’s career progressed with significant roles in American film and television. He made his big screen debut in the 2001 film “Driven” alongside Sylvester Stallone, followed by appearances in “Vampires: Los Muertos” (2002) with Jon Bon Jovi, and John McTiernan’s military thriller “Basic” (2003) opposite John Travolta. For his role in the independent thriller “Minimal Knowledge” (2002), he received the Individual Achievement Award for Best Male Actor at the Ajijic International Film Festival. On television, he had recurring roles in “Family Law” (1999–2001) as Andres Diaz and “CSI: Miami” (2003–2004) as Sam Belmontes. He also participated in the sixth season of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars” in 2008, finishing in third place despite sustaining an injury.
His work continued to span both English and Spanish-language productions. He was a regular cast member on “In Plain Sight” (2008–2012) as Raphael Ramírez and “Devious Maids” (2015) as Ernesto Falta. Additionally, he acted in numerous Spanish-language telenovelas, including “Soñar no Cuesta Nada” (2005) and “Amor Bravío” (2012), and has hosted shows like the Latin Grammy Awards and Premios Juventud. Beyond acting, he has served as an executive producer and writer for projects such as the Chilean reality series “Golpe Bajo” (2007)
