Jason Weaver has established a career as an accomplished actor and singer, known for his work in film, television, and music. After commencing his acting career in 1990 with a role in Oprah Winfrey’s television series Brewster Place, Jason Weaver quickly established himself as a versatile talent. A significant early milestone occurred in 1992 when Weaver garnered positive reviews for his portrayal of a young Michael Jackson in the critically acclaimed miniseries The Jacksons: An American Dream. He continued to build his profile in television, appearing in the series Thea from 1993 to 1994 alongside Brandy Norwood.

In 1994, Weaver made a landmark contribution to animation, providing the singing voice for young Simba in Disney’s animated film The Lion King, performing the memorable tracks ‘I Just Can’t Wait to Be King’ and ‘Hakuna Matata.’ This role proved financially beneficial, as his family made the strategic decision to accept $100,000 and a share of the soundtrack’s royalties. Following this success, he signed with Motown Records, releasing his debut album Love Ambition in 1995.
