Curtis Conway

Curtis Lamont Conway Sr. was born on January 13, 1971, in Los Angeles, California. He demonstrated exceptional athletic talent early in his life, attending Hawthorne High School. During his high school years, Conway was recognized as an All-America quarterback and also excelled in track and field. He set a California State Record in the 4x100m relay in 1987 and won the 100m state title in 1989 with a time of 10.23 seconds. His diverse athletic background provided a strong foundation for his future endeavors.

Conway continued his athletic pursuits at the University of Southern California (USC), initially as a quarterback before converting to wide receiver in 1991. At USC, he made significant contributions to the football team, notably with 49 catches for 764 yards and 5 touchdowns in 1992. Concurrently, he was an All-American sprinter for the USC Trojans track and field team, finishing as runner-up in the 4×400 meters relay at the 1992 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships. These collegiate achievements paved the way for his professional football career.

His professional career in the National Football League (NFL) spanned twelve seasons. Conway was drafted in the first round of the 1993 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears. He played for several teams, including the San Diego Chargers, New York Jets, and San Francisco 49ers. He achieved over 1,000 receiving yards in three separate seasons. After retiring from playing, Conway transitioned into broadcasting, becoming a color analyst for NFL radio broadcasts and a studio analyst for the Pac-12 Network and NFL Network. His career progression highlights his adaptability and continued engagement with the sport.
