About

Dominic Kyle Sandoval, born on October 15, 1985, in Roseville, California, is professionally recognized as D-Trix. He initiated his dancing career at the age of 13, focusing on breakdancing. His early achievements include winning the “Evolution 2” competition in Orlando, Florida, in 2005, with his breaking crew, Flexible Flav. Prior to his participation in competitive dance shows, Sandoval undertook hip-hop and choreography classes to broaden his dance capabilities beyond breakdancing. His objective was to establish himself as a versatile dancer. He graduated from Woodcreek High School in 2003.

Sandoval gained widespread recognition as a contestant on the third season of “So You Think You Can Dance.” Following this, he became a member of Quest Crew, a dance ensemble that secured victory in the third season of “America’s Best Dance Crew.” His involvement with “America’s Best Dance Crew” continued as he later served as a judge for the show’s sixth season. In 2014, he reunited with Quest Crew, participating in “America’s Best Dance Crew All-Stars: Road to the VMAs,” where Quest Crew was again voted America’s Best Dance Crew. His television career expanded to include hosting the online web series “Dance Showdown” in 2012. In 2019, Sandoval rejoined “So You Think You Can Dance” as a judge for its 16th season.

Beyond competitive dance and television, Sandoval has cultivated a significant presence on YouTube with his channels “theDOMINICshow” and “RANDOMinicSHOW,” the latter now named “RANDOM GUYS.” As of July 2021, “theDOMINICshow” had accumulated over 3,450,000 subscribers, demonstrating his influence in digital media. In 2015, his work in dance and online content creation was recognized with a YouTube Streamy Award in the “Dance” category at the 5th Streamy Awards. His acting credits include the 2010 short film “Agents of Secret Stuff” by Wong Fu Productions, the 2013 film “Battle of the Year” alongside Chris Brown, and a background dancer role in “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel.”
