Dan Bongino

Dan Bongino, a former Secret Service agent and conservative political commentator, has transitioned into a significant role as the Deputy Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, leveraging his law enforcement background and extensive media career. After serving as an officer with the New York City Police Department from 1995 to 1999, Dan Bongino transitioned to a distinguished federal law enforcement career. In 1999, he joined the U.S. Secret Service as a special agent, investigating federal crimes.

His expertise led him to become an instructor at the Secret Service Training Academy in Beltsville, Maryland, in 2002. From 2006, Bongino served in the Presidential Protection Division, providing protective duties during George W. Bush’s second term and continuing under Barack Obama until May 2011. Following his extensive law enforcement service, Bongino entered the political arena, making three attempts to run for Congress.

He sought a U.S. Senate seat in Maryland in 2012, a U.S. House seat in Maryland’s 6th congressional district in 2014, and Florida’s 19th congressional district in 2016. Concurrently, he began building a significant media presence, frequently guest-hosting prominent radio programs such as ‘The Sean Hannity Show’ and ‘The Mark Levin Show.’ In December 2019, Bongino launched ‘The Bongino Report’ as a conservative news aggregator, quickly establishing his podcast among the most popular.

His tenure saw a subsequent adjustment to a ‘co-Deputy Directorship’ role with Andrew Bailey in August 2025. An accomplished author, Bongino has penned multiple acclaimed books, including ‘Life Inside the Bubble’ (2013), ‘The Fight’ (2016), ‘Spygate’ (2019), and ‘Exonerated’ (2019), demonstrating his analytical depth and conservative perspective.
