Australian comedian, filmmaker and presenter, Dan Ilic is a prolific TV and radio broadcaster who has been working in the industry for over ten years.
Ilic has worked on an array of hit Australian TV series, including Australia’s Funniest Home Videos and The Olympic Show for NBC. He was also a presenter on the show Hungry Beast and a performer and writer on Can of Worms. On radio, Ilic has previously hosted FBi Radio’s Breakfast program, Up For It, as well as ABC Radio Sydney, Triple J and Radio National. Of his stand-up comedy work, Ilic has performed internationally and is the creator of the improv show Full Body Contact No Love Tennis in Sydney and the sketch club night Comicide. As a director, Ilic has worked on The Mansion for Comedy Central and AJ+ for the Al Jazeera Media Network in San Francisco. Ilic is also a prominent video journalist, having previously covered the Sundance Film Festival and in 2008 broke reported to the world on the death of Heath Ledger. His entertainment company, Downwind Media, is known for some of Australia’s most famous advertising campaigns, including Apple, GAME, The Commonwealth Bank and The Australian Olympic Committee.
Other highlights of Ilic’s varied career include writing and directing the film Y2GAY in 2011, that has since been shown at over 20 film festivals and become a finalist at Tropfest. In 2008, Ilic also premiered his critically acclaimed show, Beaconsfield: The Musical in Melbourne.
