Walker began competing in the National American Miss Pageants when she was just 14 years old. In 2004, she won her first accolades in the Californian heat of the competition — second runner-up in talent and third runner-up in casual wear. She competed in the competitions for six years and often placed runner-up, despite feeling that she lacked the kind of skills or knowledge that she teaches to her clients today. Her biggest victory during those years was being named 2006 Miss California Junior Teen.
After several years of competing on the NAM circuit and winning numerous awards, particularly the Spirit Award, she set her sights on winning a Miss America or Miss USA title. After several attempts, and several knockbacks, she became Miss Montana USA 2018, a dream she had worked towards for years. She went on to compete at Miss USA, and although she didn’t place, she took so much from the experience that “winning” became secondary. All this experience is what she now gives back to fellow aspiring pageant entrants.
