About

Daniel Alejandro Suárez Garza was born on January 7, 1992, in Monterrey, Mexico. He began his racing career in karting in 2002, securing a class championship in 2007. In 2008, he became the youngest driver to win a race in the preliminary NASCAR Mexico Mini-Stocks series. Suárez progressed to the NASCAR Mexico Series in 2010, earning the Rookie of the Year title. His early career also included participation in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and the Toyota All-Star Showdown, where he consistently achieved top finishes.

Suárez’s career advanced through NASCAR’s national touring series. In 2015, he competed full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Joe Gibbs Racing, earning the Sunoco Rookie of the Year award. The following year, 2016, marked a significant achievement as he won the Xfinity Series Championship, becoming the first foreign-born driver to claim a major NASCAR National Series title. He then moved to the NASCAR Cup Series in 2017, driving for Joe Gibbs Racing, and later for Stewart–Haas Racing and Gaunt Brothers Racing. In 2021, Suárez joined Trackhouse Racing, a team co-owned by Justin Marks and Pitbull, where he has since achieved historic wins.

His tenure with Trackhouse Racing has been particularly notable. In 2022, Suárez made history by becoming the first Mexican-born driver to win a Cup Series race at Sonoma Raceway. He continued his success, securing another Cup Series win at Atlanta Motor Speedway in February 2024, in a photo finish that was one of the closest in Cup Series history. In 2025, he achieved victory in the Xfinity Series race at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City, performing in front of his home country fans. Off-track, Suárez became a dual citizen of Mexico and the United States in June 2024, and has lent his voice to animated films and made appearances in television and movies, showcasing his broader cultural impact.
