Hailing from New York, fashion designer Danielle Bernstein first started brainstorming her soon to be mega global success WeWoreWhat when she was only just a Sophomore. Danielle eventually left The Fashion Institute of Technology to focus on her genius fashion blog and brand idea and turn it into a career. And that’s just what she did.
Danielle started WeWoreWhat as a street-style photographer, but her passion for fashion quickly shone through and it became a personal-style blog. It was around this time that she came out with Second Skin Overalls, a line of overalls designed by herself. In 2017, at the mere age of 24, the fashionista made the Forbes 30 Under 30 list. That year she also collaborated with Onis to design a swimsuit, which became Intermix’s best selling suit that season. Their success led to two other designs shortly after. In 2019 Danielle came out with her very own swimwear line with Onia as partners. That year she also designed and released a new jean style with Joe’s Jeans christened the Danielle Jean, and launched a tech company, Moe Assist, geared towards helping influencers manage their product and brand.
Danielle made the decision to combine all her brands under one roof in 2020 with the launch of Shop WeWoreWhat. The shop features swimwear, overalls, denim and most recently activewear. The same year the Danielle Bernstein brand launched exclusively at Macy’s, the designers first size-inclusive line. As if she weren’t busy enough she also released her autobiography in 2020; This is Not a Fashion Story: Taking Chances, Breaking Rules, and Being a Boss in the Big City. In light of the pandemic in the last year Danielle started WeGaveWhat to raise money for struggling small businesses. She has raised over $80 000, and donated thousands of masks and meals to frontline workers since the onset.
