Danny Maddix

Danny Maddix is a former professional footballer recognized for his career as a defender, notably with Queens Park Rangers in the Premier League. After his playing career, he transitioned into coaching at an amateur level. After joining Queens Park Rangers in November 1987, Danny Maddix established himself as a formidable defender, embarking on a remarkable 13-season tenure at Loftus Road. During this period, Maddix made 295 league appearances, scoring 13 goals, and was a pivotal figure in the team’s back four.

During his highly successful period at Loftus Road, he also earned international recognition, representing Jamaica in 1998, a testament to his high performance level. Following his lengthy and impactful career with Queens Park Rangers, Maddix moved to Sheffield Wednesday in 2001, where he made 59 appearances and scored 2 goals before the club’s relegation in 2003. In 2003, he signed with Barnet F.C., and in 2004, he broadened his career experience by serving as joint caretaker manager alongside Ian Hendon. Concluding his professional playing career in December 2004, Maddix continued to contribute to the sport, joining Grays Athletic in 2005 and playing for them until 2006.
