About

Damieon Dante Hall was born on September 20, 1978, in Lufkin, Texas. He played college football at Texas A&M University as a running back and return specialist. During his college career, Hall accumulated 4,707 all-purpose yards, placing him second in school history at the time. He was recognized for his abilities early on, being named first-team All-Big 12 in 1996 and second-team All-Big 12 in 1997. After a collegiate career where he demonstrated significant potential in various roles, Hall was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fifth round (153rd overall) of the 2000 NFL Draft.

Hall’s professional career began with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2000, and he quickly established himself as a dominant return specialist. His tenure with the Chiefs from 2000 to 2006 was marked by numerous record-breaking achievements in kick and punt returns. He was a two-time Pro Bowl selection (2002, 2003) and a first-team All-Pro in 2003. Notably, in 2003, Hall returned a kickoff or a punt for a touchdown in four consecutive games, an NFL record. His unique agility and playmaking ability earned him the nicknames “the Human Joystick” and “the X-Factor.” In 2007, Hall was traded to the St. Louis Rams, where he played for two seasons before his NFL career concluded in 2008.

Throughout his NFL career, Hall compiled 1,747 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns from 162 receptions, alongside 242 rushing yards. His primary impact, however, came from special teams, where he amassed 12,397 return yards and 12 touchdowns. Hall holds several Kansas City Chiefs franchise records, including career kick return yards (8,644), career kick return touchdowns (6), career punt return touchdowns (5), and career combined punt and kickoff return touchdowns (11). In 2023, he was inducted into the Chiefs Hall of Honor, recognizing his significant contributions to the team and the league. Beyond his playing days, Hall has engaged in coaching and philanthropic activities, including serving as a mentor for the NFL’s “Play It Smart” program and as a Kansas City Chiefs Ambassador.
