Darren Espanto is a Filipino singer, actor, and television personality known for his successful music career, television appearances, and brand partnerships. After gaining national prominence as the second-place finalist on the first season of The Voice Kids Philippines in 2014, Darren Espanto cemented his status as a Filipino talent. He reached the finals with a performance of Whitney Houston’s ‘One Moment in Time.’ This followed his 2012 achievement of reaching the Top 6 on YTV’s reality competition, The Next Star, becoming its youngest finalist. In 2013, Espanto made his acting debut in a guest-starring role on YTV’s Life with Boys.
In 2021, Espanto released singles ‘If This Is The Last Time’ and ‘Tama Na,’ while hosting Your Face Sounds Familiar (Philippine season 3). He delivered the sold-out digital concert ‘Darren: Home Run (The Comeback Concert)’ and interpreted the main OST of Marry Me, Marry You at the 2021 Bb. Pilipinas’ Coronation Night. In 2022, he released ‘Pabalik Sa’yo,’ collaborated with Calum Scott on ‘Heaven,’ and starred in the musical series Lyric and Beat.
That year also marked Republic Records Philippines’ launch. In 2023, Espanto joined It’s Showtime’s ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ segment as a new ‘Hurado,’ later advancing to a cast presenter role in 2024. He is slated to headline his ‘D10 Anniversary Concert’ at Smart Araneta Coliseum in 2024, marking a decade of accomplishments.
