David Easter

David Easter was born on November 11, 1959, in Eastleigh, Hampshire, England. He embarked on his acting career in the late 1970s, making his cinematic debut in the 1979 film ‘The Music Machine’ and subsequently gaining recognition in television. A significant early role was portraying Pat Hancock in the soap opera ‘Brookside’ from 1984 to 1987. His career also extended to the stage, notably taking on the role of Pharaoh in the 1991 London Palladium revival production of ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ alongside Jason Donovan and Linzi Hateley.

His career progression saw him become a consistent presence in British television, appearing in various popular shows. From 1997 to 2005, Easter played the role of Pete Callan in the television soap opera ‘Family Affairs’, a role that spanned 212 episodes. He further contributed to other notable series, including ‘The Bill’ (1990-2004), ‘Doctors’ (2008-2011), ‘Holby City’ (2007), and ‘The Tudors’ (2009). These roles showcased his versatility and sustained engagement within the industry.

A more recent and prominent phase of his career involved playing Mac Nightingale in the Channel 4 soap opera ‘Hollyoaks’ from 2015 to 2019, appearing in 229 episodes. During this period, he also featured as Gil Keane in ITV’s ‘Emmerdale’ in 2013 for 6 episodes. Beyond acting, Easter has leveraged his experience to contribute as a writer and producer. He co-created, wrote, and executive produced the TV series ‘Cockney and Scouse’ from 2020 to 2022, demonstrating a broader involvement in content creation.
