David Usher is a British-born, Canadian musician, best-selling author, speaker and activist. Usher is perhaps best known for being the front man in the band, Moist. Usher has released several solo albums which have received a great deal of acclaim from many. Usher is also the founder of Reimagine AI, an artificial intelligence creative studio. Throughout his illustrious career, Usher has sold more than 1.4 million albums, won four Juno awards and boasted several No 1 singles in many languages.
Usher was one of the founding members of the band, Moist, which comprised Usher on vocals, Mark Makoway on guitar, Jeff Pearce on bass, Kevin Young on keyboard and Paul Wilcox on drums. Usher was the leading vocalist and songwriter for the band, who’s debut album, titled Silver, achieved four-time platinum status and sold an incredible 400,000 copies nationwide. Their next album boasted similar success, also reaching multi-platinum status and selling over 300,000 copies.
Moist released five albums in total, their most recent album being Glory Under Dangerous Skies, which was released in 2014. Usher went on to go solo, and spent a year preparing to release his solo album, titled Little Songs. Usher released numerous solo albums which received critical acclaim and outstanding sales of copies, namely Hallucinations, If God Had Curves, Strange Birds, Wake Up and Say Goodbye and Morning Orbit, which sold 90,000 copies. His album, Strange Birds, was nominated for a Juno award.
