American actress Debra Joe Rupp has forged an impressive career over four decades in the entertainment industry, appearing in a wide range of popular television series and films. She’s best known for portraying Kitty Forman on the lauded Fox sitcom That ‘70s Show, and taking on the role of Alice Knight-Buffay in three seasons of Friends.
Born in California, Rupp moved to New York in the ‘70s to begin a career in acting. She appeared in several commercials and stage productions before making her screen debut in the daytime drama All My Children. She continued to make a name for herself as a stage actress, performing in many successful Off-Broadway productions while guest starring on television shows such as Kate & Allie, Spenser for Hire and The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd. 1988 saw Rupp land her first role in a major motion picture, taking on the part of Miss Patterson and starring opposite Tom Hanks in the comedy Big.
Rupp continued to appear in guest roles throughout the ‘90s and ‘00s, appearing in several episodes of Friends before landing a recurring part in That ‘70s Show, her most memorable role to date. Since then, she has continued to establish herself as one of America’s most beloved stage actresses, while taking on further roles in television shows and films such as Teacher’s Pet, She Wants Me, The Ranch, This Is Us and Grey’s Anatomy.
