About

Destiny Rogers, born on September 13, 1999, in Lodi, California, developed an early interest in music. She learned to play the guitar at the age of 10 by watching online videos, laying the foundation for her musical endeavors. Growing up in a Mexican household, she became fluent in Spanish. Her involvement in her church community, where her father served as a worship leader, included performing in the band during services. Rogers attended a non-traditional high school to focus on her singing and songwriting aspirations.

Her professional music journey began in 2017 when a family friend introduced her YouTube cover videos to the production duo The Stereotypes. This led to a collaboration and subsequently, a recording contract with their label in February 2018, followed by a signing with RCA Records in November of the same year. In February 2019, Rogers released her debut single “Tomboy,” which was recorded in mid-2018. The song’s lyrical theme focused on defiance and female empowerment, accompanied by a music video featuring her skateboarding in her hometown. Her debut EP, also titled “Tomboy,” was released in March 2019, followed by her second EP, “Great Escape,” in May 2020.

Throughout her career, Rogers has engaged in various notable projects and performances. She performed at South by Southwest and Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival in 2019. She also supported singer Ruel on his North American Free Time Tour in late 2019. In 2021, a choreographed music video for “Tomboy” by Lisa from the K-Pop group Blackpink significantly boosted the song’s streaming numbers, leading to a remix featuring rapper Coi Leray. Rogers has collaborated with other artists, co-wrote a track for Nayeon’s debut EP in 2022, and featured on James Reid’s album “Lovescene” in the same year. She officially announced her departure from RCA Records towards the end of 2022 and publicly identified as bisexual on National Coming Out Day.
