Devon Still

Devon Still transitioned from a professional NFL defensive end to a dedicated advocate for childhood cancer research and awareness. After distinguishing himself as a Consensus All-American and earning Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2011, Devon Still was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft as the 53rd overall pick. During his senior year at Penn State in 2011, Still was recognized as a consensus All-American, named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, and also secured the title of Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year – becoming only the second defensive tackle in history to achieve the former award. His impressive collegiate career further included being elected a team captain and earning finalist nominations for both the prestigious Outland and Bednarik awards.

The Cincinnati Bengals demonstrated significant support for his cause in 2014 by initiating a highly successful jersey sale campaign that generated nearly $1 million for pediatric cancer research and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. His daughter Leah’s courageous journey garnered widespread public attention, leading to her being declared cancer-free in March 2015 and achieving remission in November 2015. In recognition of their resilience and inspirational advocacy, Devon and Leah Still were jointly honored with the prestigious Jimmy V Award in 2015. Still’s commitment to advocacy continues to this day, marked by significant collaborations and recognition.

In August 2021, he partnered with United Therapeutics to launch the ‘Braving NeuroBLASToma’ initiative, further amplifying awareness for neuroblastoma. His lasting impact on sports and community engagement was formally acknowledged in 2022 when he was inducted into the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame. Still remains dedicated to championing childhood cancer research and awareness, leveraging his platform to inspire hope and drive philanthropic efforts for families facing similar challenges.
