American chef Chloe Coscarelli made history in 2010 when she became the first vegan to win a television culinary competition. Her triumph in the first season of the Food Network’s Cupcake Wars gave her an amazing platform that she has been making brilliant use of ever since. She has continued to appear on television — on shows such as The Veg Edge, The Today Show, The Fran Drescher Show, and many others. She has also penned four highly-rated cookbooks: Chloe’s Kitchen, Chloe’s Vegan Desserts, Chloe’s Vegan Italian Kitchen, and Chloe Flavour. She is hugely popular on Instagram and has an incredible 190,000 followers, as well as a further 140,000 on Facebook. She also offers private and corporate culinary classes through her wonderful website.
Coscarelli was born in Los Angeles in 1987 and became vegan at a time when plant-based food was widely regarded as dull and tasteless, not to mention almost impossible to buy. She set out to help change that, and when she appeared on Cupcake Wars as a 22-year-old hopeful, she couldn’t have dreamed that her victory would have the impact that it did. As well as being a welcome presence on TV and kitchen bookshelves all over the world, she was also included in Forbes’ prestigious 30 Under 30 list.
In a world where veganism is more popular and accessible than ever, Chloe Coscarelli can claim her continuing part in helping a healthy, nutritious, and above all tasty lifestyle to thrive.
