Dimitri Snowden

Dimitri Snowden is a self-taught roboticist and design consultant, known for his work in business intelligence, brand architecture, and multi-channel marketing strategy. He defines himself as an “ontological architect,” a field he describes as applying artificial intelligence to understand and shape human experience and environments. His career highlights include developing advanced robotic systems and consulting on design and technology solutions for various organizations. Snowden’s approach emphasizes problem-solving and the integration of innovative strategies into practical applications.

In 2016, Snowden gained recognition for building a 7-foot-tall, 800-pound robot named AWSM (Autonomous Working Smart Machine) from scratch, using a combination of custom and repurposed parts. This robot was initially created to inspire underprivileged children and educate them about robotics. He later donated AWSM to Associate Professor Yong Cho’s Robotics and Intelligent Construction Automation Lab at Georgia Tech, where it continues to be used for construction engineering research. This collaboration aimed to explore new applications for robotics in construction, such as material handling and site inspections, and to study human-robot interaction in practical settings.

Snowden’s professional background also encompasses IT company ownership and a focus on employing artificial intelligence to understand the world. Outside of his technological endeavors, he has been featured on TLC’s reality show “Seeking Sister Wife,” where he and his wife Ashley explored the polygamist lifestyle. During his appearance on the show in 2018, he stated that his participation had not negatively impacted his business as a design consultant, emphasizing his public role as an ‘ontological architect’ and ‘change agent’.
