Dixie Longate is the drag stage name for actor Kris Andersson who has appeared in the likes Titanic, Scream 2 and Girls Will Be Girls. When Andersson was dared by a friend to sell Tupperware in drag, he went on to become Tupperware’s number 1 sales representative in the United States and Canada, which led Longate to develop the show Dixie’s Tupperware Party. Dixie’s Tupperware Party includes the fast-talking, fun-loving and ginger Alabama persona who makes her audiences howl with laughter from outrageous tales, audience participation and strange uses for Tupperware. The off-Broadway Tupperware Party is a southern based tale of empowerment that is unique to Dixie’s brand.
Longate has also written and performed several other solo stage performances, such as Broken Shit and Baby Jesus, No Instructions and My Bags Went Where.The latter was especially picked up by media as a comedic marvel, featuring as part of the 2013 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Longate’s most recent project is on a theatrical solo show “Never Wear a Tube Top While Riding A Mechanical Bull and 16 Other Things I Learned While I Was Drinking Last Thursday.” sold out in Denver Centre for the Performing Arts, and is now touring globally. Longate loves to give back to her fans with her tongue-in-cheek humour, and has had rave reviews from prestigious publications like The New York Times, the LA Times and the Tampa Bay Times.
