Dixie Longate, the drag persona of Kris Andersson, has developed a global presence as a performer and Tupperware sales representative.
Dixie Longate built her public persona and career on selling Tupperware products, integrating legitimate sales into her theatrical performances of 'Dixie's Tupperware Party' and becoming a high-volume seller in North America.
Dixie Longate was born in Ohio in 1969. As the drag persona of Kris Andersson, Longate has been performing a solo act titled ‘Dixie’s Tupperware Party’ since 2007. This show originated from a dare in 2004 for Andersson to sell Tupperware in drag. Longate subsequently became a top Tupperware sales representative across the United States and Canada, simultaneously developing the stage show.
In 2007, Longate undertook a three-month residency at New York’s Ars Nova theater to further refine the character and performance. This work led to a Drama Desk Award nomination in 2008 for Outstanding Solo Performance. Beyond her stage work, Longate (as Kris Andersson) has appeared in various film and television roles, utilizing her experience both as a performer and writer. Her work combines entertainment with product sales, distinguishing her presence in the entertainment and sales industries across five different countries.
Longate’s performances blend comedic storytelling with demonstrations of Tupperware products, offering audiences both laughter and practical advice. Her shows are characterized by audience interaction and a unique blend of humor, touching on themes of empowerment and homespun wisdom. This approach has allowed her to connect with diverse audiences globally, extending the traditional concept of a home sales party into a theatrical experience.
