Eric Fernando Narciandi, known as DJ EFN, was born on May 28, 1975, in Los Angeles, California, before moving to Miami, Florida, in 1986. He founded Crazy Hood Productions in 1993, a multimedia company that has since become a significant entity in Miami hip hop. EFN began his career by producing mixtapes, releasing his first Crazy Hood mixtape in 1993. Over two decades, he produced 42 volumes of these mixtapes, featuring a range of hip-hop artists including Outkast, Redman, and Wu-Tang Clan. His efforts to promote local talent and Miami’s hip-hop scene earned him recognition, including Best New Mixtape DJ at the 7th Annual Justo Awards in 2002 and Best Mixtape DJ at the First Annual Miami Urban Music Awards in 2003.
Beyond mixtapes, EFN expanded Crazy Hood Productions into various aspects of the music industry. He established Crazy Sounds Record Pool in 1997, which operated until 2007, and formed Hood DJs, an international coalition. His company also ventured into marketing and promotions, assisting national brands like Tommy Boy Records, Slip-n-Slide Records, Epic Records, Coca-Cola, and Eckō Unltd. with their presence in the Miami market. From 2001 to 2004, Crazy Hood managed Def Jam Recordings’ street teams in South Florida.
