Steven “DJ Suss One” Sussman is an American DJ, record producer, and radio personality best known for being pop diva Mariah Carey’s DJ and the house DJ for The Wendy Wiliams Show. He has also appeared on Power 105.1 NY, Jam’n 94.5 in Boston, and Live 97.5 in Maryland, making his success truly national and international. Over the years, he has also produced various artists and released a few tracks himself, most notably 2013’s ‘Single for Tonight’, which featured Flo Rida. His biggest successes have included the track ‘Wiz Khalifa’ and ‘Spin It’, both of which have achieved more than half a million Spotify streams each. His latest release is the 2021 release ‘Bring Yuh Body’, which also featured the talents of Kofi Black and Netafari. He has also become a popular social media star, with highlights including regular interviews with other music stars on his YouTube channel.
Sussman was born in Brooklyn in 1978. His deep love affair with music began when he and his family relocated to Westchester in New York when he was eight years old. Thanks to mixtapes made for him by his uncle, he soon became a budding DJ, working after-school jobs to buy the necessary equipment and honing his skills at high school parties. He got his first professional taste of the industry when he worked as an intern at Sony Records. He further proved his passion by getting a job on a radio station in Connecticut, a 240-mile round trip that he claims to have performed every day for two years. In 2006, his hard work paid off when he was chosen by Mariah Carey to be her tour DJ. He hasn’t looked back since.
