Dustin Hunter Johnson was born on June 22, 1984, in Columbia, South Carolina. He pursued collegiate golf at Coastal Carolina University, majoring in Sports Management. His amateur career included notable wins such as the Monroe Invitational and the Northeast Amateur in 2007, and he was a member of the victorious 2007 Walker Cup and Palmer Cup teams. Johnson turned professional in late 2007, securing his PGA Tour card by finishing tied for 14th at the 2007 qualifying school. He quickly made his mark on the PGA Tour, achieving his first victory at the Turning Stone Resort Championship in October 2008.
Throughout his career, Johnson has been recognized for his powerful driving and consistent play. He spent 135 consecutive weeks as the world number one ranked golfer starting in February 2017, a testament to his dominance in the sport.
