Ed Alonzo

Ed Alonzo, a master of fusing comedy and magic, received the Academy of Magical Arts Junior Achievement Award in 1982, marking an early milestone in a career defined by innovation and captivating performances. He gained widespread recognition for his iconic role as Max in the television series ‘Saved by the Bell,’ appearing in 21 episodes between 1989 and 1992. Alonzo’s distinctive comedic and magical style, which combines retro aesthetics with intelligent humor and illusions, quickly established him as a singular talent in the entertainment industry, laying the groundwork for his multifaceted career across stage, film, and television. Alonzo’s exceptional talent was repeatedly honored by the Academy of Magical Arts, where he earned the ‘Stage Magician of the Year’ award in both 1999 and 2000.

He reprised his beloved character Max in the ‘Saved by the Bell’ reboot, appearing in the series from 2020 to 2021. Most recently, Alonzo has taken on the role of Creative Consultant and Magic Producer for ‘The Magic Prank Show with Justin Willman,’ which premiered in 2024, further solidifying his enduring presence and innovative impact within the entertainment industry.
