About

Edwin Joel Honoret, born on February 12, 1999, in The Bronx, New York, is an American singer of Dominican descent. He gained initial recognition as a member of the pop and R&B boy band PRETTYMUCH. The group was formed in 2016 by Simon Cowell and Syco Music, bringing together five individuals, including Honoret, who had been pursuing solo careers. PRETTYMUCH established a base in Los Angeles, sharing a home and developing their performance skills through dance and vocal training. During his time with PRETTYMUCH, Honoret contributed to various releases, including EPs and singles, and participated in tours across the United States. The band achieved mainstream success, performing at events like the 2017 Teen Choice Awards and the MTV Video Music Awards, and their debut single “Would You Mind” peaked in the top 40 on Billboard’s Mainstream Top 40 charts. The group released several EPs, including “PrettyMuch an EP” (2018), “Phases – EP” (2019), and “INTL:EP” (2019).

In 2020, following the dissolution of Syco Music, PRETTYMUCH signed with Sire Records. Under this new label, they released the EP “Smackables” in January 2021, which included tracks like “Stars” and “Parking Spot,” followed by a deluxe version in February 2021. After Nick Mara’s departure in 2022, the remaining members continued as a four-piece until the group officially disbanded in October 2023. This transition marked a turning point for Honoret, who then pursued an independent music career under the artist name ‘edwin.’

As an independent artist, Edwin Honoret has focused on solo releases, utilizing his music as a personal outlet. His individual work explores new sonic territories and showcases genre-bending musical styles. Notable solo singles by Edwin include “Exhaustin” (2023), “Had To See” (2023), “Talking” (2023), “Reminded” (2023), “It’s Yours” (2023), “Minute” (2023), “Never Sold” (2023), “Time of Your Life” (2023), “Sagittarius Eyes” (2024), and “About You” (2024). He has also collaborated with other artists such as BLOODY, Lo Nightly, ZZ, Eldar Zey, and DEEGAN on various tracks, further expanding his artistic reach. These solo projects highlight his continued musical development and connection with audiences through personal and evolving artistry.
