Antonia Gentry

Antonia Gentry was born in Atlanta, Georgia. She began her performance journey early, with her first play being an original work by her mother, Sandra. Gentry later attended Davidson Fine Arts in Augusta, Georgia, for middle and high school, where her interest in performing arts grew. During her time there, she participated in numerous plays that achieved recognition at regional, state, and national levels. Her initial professional work included a public service announcement (PSA) filmed in 2014, titled “PSA Dont Text and Drive Pay Attention,” where she played a teenage driver.

She returned to Atlanta to pursue higher education at Emory University, graduating in 2019. While at Emory, Gentry continued to refine her acting skills, actively participating in the Rathskellar Comedy Improv troupe. She also performed in professional theater productions alongside Atlanta theater professionals in plays such as “Romeo and Juliet,” where she took on the role of Juliet, and “The Tempest.” Before her university graduation, Gentry secured several commercial and substantial Netflix credits. Her early filmography includes smaller roles in “Lone Wolf Mason” (2015), “Driver’s Ed: Tales from the Street” (2015), and the feature film “Candy Jar” (2018), where she played Jasmine. In 2019, she appeared in one episode of the television series “Raising Dion” as Wendy.

Gentry’s career saw a significant turning point with her casting as Virginia “Ginny” Miller in the Netflix series “Ginny & Georgia,” which premiered in 2021. This lead role brought her widespread recognition and critical acclaim, showcasing her ability to portray complex characters. In addition to her ongoing work on “Ginny & Georgia,” she has appeared in films such as “Time Cut” (2024), playing Summer, and “Prom Dates” (2024), portraying Jess, further expanding her presence in film.
