Emma Navarro is an American professional tennis player who has achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No. 8 and secured two WTA Tour singles titles. She is recognized for her consistent performance on court and her continued ascent in professional tennis.

Emma Navarro was born on May 18, 2001, in New York City, US, and later resided in Charleston, South Carolina. She started her professional tennis career in 2015 and quickly made an impact in junior competitions. In 2019, she was the runner-up in the junior French Open singles draw and won the junior French Open doubles title with Chloe Beck. That same year, she also reached the finals of the junior Australian Open doubles, showcasing her potential in the sport. Navarro made her WTA Tour main-draw debut at the 2019 Charleston Open, receiving a wildcard entry for both singles and doubles events.
Navarro attended the University of Virginia, where she played college tennis from 2020 to 2022. During her freshman year, she achieved a 25–1 singles record and reached the No. 1 national ranking. A significant milestone during her college career was winning the NCAA Singles Championship in 2021, defeating Estela Perez-Somarriba. This victory earned her a wildcard entry into the 2021 US Open main draw, marking her Grand Slam tournament debut. After her sophomore year, where she maintained a strong 26–2 singles record and a No. 2 national ranking, Navarro transitioned to fully professional play. She made her first major singles win at the 2023 French Open, advancing to the second round, and reached her first WTA Tour semifinal at the 2023 Bad Homburg Open. By the end of 2023, she had broken into the top 50, finishing the season ranked No. 38.
The year 2024 marked a significant period for Navarro’s career. She won her maiden WTA Tour title at the Hobart International in January, defeating Elise Mertens. Her performance at the Australian Open saw her reach the third round, moving her into the top 25 singles rankings. Later that year, she achieved a major upset at the Indian Wells Open by defeating world No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka, which led to her breaking into the top 20. Navarro further progressed by reaching her first major quarterfinal at Wimbledon and then her first major semifinal at the US Open, where she climbed to a career-high singles ranking of world No. 8. Her accomplishments in 2024 were recognized with the WTA Most Improved Player award.
