Enrique Murciano

Enrique Murciano was born in Miami, Florida, on July 9, 1973. He spent his early childhood in Mexico before returning to Miami. He pursued higher education at Tulane University and later at Boston Law School. However, his ambition to become an actor led him to Los Angeles. His acting career began with a small speaking role as Alejandro in “Speed 2: Cruise Control” in 1997. This foundational experience, though brief in lines, involved a significant six-month shooting period, marking his entry into the entertainment industry.

Murciano’s career gained momentum with a role in the Academy Award-winning film “Traffic” (2000), where a two-day commitment extended to several weeks. This exposure, portraying DEA agent Ricky, placed him alongside notable actors such as Luis Guzmán and Don Cheadle. Following a role in the TV series “Spyder Games” (2001), he was cast as Sgt. Lorenzo Ruiz in Ridley Scott’s “Black Hawk Down” (2001). This project proved pivotal, as it led to a meeting with producer Jerry Bruckheimer, which in turn resulted in his casting in “Without a Trace” (2002).

From 2002 to 2009, Murciano was a main cast member on the CBS mystery drama “Without a Trace,” portraying FBI Agent Danny Taylor for 160 episodes. This role brought him significant recognition and two ALMA Award nominations. His film work expanded to include “Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous” (2005), and later, roles in “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” (2014) as Kemp, and “Bright” (2017) as Poison. He also had recurring television roles in “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” (2009, 2012), “NCIS” (2011–2012), and a main role as Detective Marco Diaz in the Netflix series “Bloodline” (2015–2017). Most recently, he appeared as Ben Almora in “The Night Agent” (2023) across 10 episodes and Carlos Baralt in “Monsters” (2024) in 3 episodes.
