Eric Mabius

Eric Mabius was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on April 22, 1971. He spent a significant portion of his early life in Massachusetts. Following high school, Mabius pursued higher education at Sarah Lawrence College, where he focused on acting, writing, and film theory. This academic foundation led him to early roles in Off-Broadway theater productions, marking the beginning of his professional acting career.

Mabius made his film debut in 1995 in “Welcome to the Dollhouse,” where he played a teen rock star. Over the years, he has appeared in over 27 films, with seven screening at Sundance, and more than a dozen television projects. Notable film roles include a high school gang leader in “Black Circle Boys” (1997), a blackmailed prep school athlete in “Cruel Intentions” (1999), the lead in “The Crow: Salvation” (2000), and a policeman in “Resident Evil” (2002). His television work gained him further recognition, particularly his role as Tim Haspel in “The L Word” (2004) and as Daniel Meade, a womanizing executive, in “Ugly Betty” (2006). This role on “Ugly Betty” led to his inclusion in People magazine’s “Sexiest Men Alive” list in 2006.

Since 2013, Mabius has been a consistent presence on the Hallmark Channel, starring in the “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” film series as Oliver O’Toole. He has also starred in other Hallmark Channel Original Movies such as “How to Fall in Love,” “Reading, Writing & Romance,” “Welcome to Christmas,” and “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas.” Beyond acting, Mabius has taken on executive producer roles for “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” (2019) and “Welcome to Christmas” (2018). He also has a background in sports, having competed as a luger in the late 1980s and was named an honorary captain for the US luge team for the 2010 Winter Olympics. He continues to engage with his fanbase and participate in various projects.
