Eric Moulds

Eric Shannon Moulds, born on July 17, 1973, in Lucedale, Mississippi, established himself as a prominent wide receiver during his 12-season career in the National Football League. He attended Mississippi State University, where he showcased his athletic abilities by catching 117 passes for 2,022 yards and 17 touchdowns. Moulds also led the NCAA Division I-A in kickoff returns during 1994 with an impressive 32.8 yards per return average. His strong collegiate performance led to him being a highly anticipated prospect in the NFL Draft.

Moulds was selected by the Buffalo Bills as the 24th overall pick in the first round of the 1996 NFL Draft. After spending his initial two seasons behind established receivers, Moulds achieved a breakout year in 1998. He set a single-season team record with 1,368 receiving yards, which led the AFC and was second in the entire league, and earned his first Pro Bowl selection. He continued to be a dominant force for the Bills, amassing 626 receptions for 8,523 yards an average of 78.25 catches and 1,065 yards per season between 1998 and 2005. In 2002, he made Bills history as the first player to record 100 receptions in a single season.

Throughout his professional tenure, Moulds earned three Pro Bowl selections (1998, 2000, 2002) and was twice named Second-team All-Pro (1998, 2002). His 240 receiving yards in a 1998 playoff game against the Miami Dolphins set an NFL playoff record. After a successful decade with the Bills, Moulds was traded to the Houston Texans in 2006 and later played for the Tennessee Titans in 2007 before concluding his career. He concluded his NFL career with 764 receptions, 9,995 receiving yards, and 49 touchdowns. In 2009, he was recognized for his contributions by being named to the Buffalo Bills 50th Anniversary All-Time Team.
