During her time at Furman, she performed leading roles in operas such as Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi and Gilbert & Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance. She also toured internationally with the Furman Singers in Russia, Estonia, Finland, and Italy. In 2007, with support from Furman study abroad scholarships, Erika performed in Offenbach’s Les contes d’Hoffmann and Verdi’s La Traviata at Lyrique en Mer/Festival de Belle Ile in France.
After graduating, Erika won The Metropolitan Opera National Council auditions for South Carolina in 2009. She then relocated to New York City, where she made her solo debut at The Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall in 2010. She is a regular performer with the Concert Chorale of New York, the official chorus of The New York Philharmonic. Her acting career expanded with SAG eligibility from the movie “Something Borrowed.” She has appeared in television series including “Ugly Betty,” “White Collar,” “Royal Pains,” “The Good Wife,” and ABC’s “Nashville.” Erika has also pursued voice-over work, commercial print campaigns, and promotional spokesmodeling.
In 2011, Erika collaborated with Edwin McCain on her debut CD. During this period, she was a Top-25 Global Semi-Finalist in the Avon Voices Talent Search with Avon Cosmetics. She also competed again in pageantry, winning Miss South Carolina USA 2012 and placing in the Top-15 at The Miss USA Pageant.
