Multi-talented Erin Gray is an American actress, model, and casting agent. A veteran of film, television, and TV movies, she first found fame in the 1970s as one of America’s leading TV models. She then branched out into acting, and at the close of the decade, she reached an international audience when she played Colonel Wilma Deering, the female lead in Buck Rogers in the 25th Century. She has continued to act ever since, most notably in the likes of the NBC drama series, Silver Spoons, shows such as Baywatch and The Guild, and many TV movies. Her casting agency, Heroes for Hire, specialises in representing the stars of sci-fi and superhero films and series, booking them for personal appearances. Her recent projects include appearing in the TV movie, It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Murder.
Gray grew up in Honolulu and California. She got her first modelling assignment in 1964 — when she was just 14 years old — and made her television debut in 1967. However, it wasn’t until the following decade that her career took off, and by the mid-1970s, she had a huge reputation as one of highest paid TV models in the United States. The success of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century in 1979 and its subsequent two-season TV spin-off helped to establish her as an actress.
In recent years, Gray has mainly appeared in TV movies and other series, but her other big-screen credits include the diverse likes of Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday and independent films such as 2011’s Dreams Awake, which won her the Best Actress Award at the Monaco International Film Festival.
