Outwear brand Canada Goose has revealed Training Day actor Ethan Hawke as the face of its new campaign. He recently made his debut as the star of the campaign for Snow Goose by Canada Goose, the seasonal collection helmed by fashion designer Haider Ackermann. He's been an endorser since November 2024.

Ethan Green Hawke was born on November 6, 1970, in Austin, Texas. His parents divorced when he was five, and he was raised by his mother, moving frequently until settling in Princeton Junction, New Jersey. He attended West Windsor-Plainsboro High School and later the Hun School of Princeton, where he began taking acting classes at the McCarter Theatre. Initially aspiring to be a writer, his interest shifted to acting. His first film role came at age 14 in ‘Explorers’ (1985) alongside River Phoenix, though the film’s commercial performance led him to briefly step away from acting. He was admitted to Carnegie-Mellon University to study theatre but left after securing his breakthrough role in ‘Dead Poets Society’ (1989), which proved to be a critical and commercial success, influencing his decision to continue acting.
Hawke’s career progressed with a mix of film and theatre work. Notable film roles in the 1990s included ‘Reality Bites’ (1994), ‘Before Sunrise’ (1995), ‘Gattaca’ (1997), and ‘Great Expectations’ (1998). He gained significant critical recognition and an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as Jake Hoyt in ‘Training Day’ (2001). His collaborations with director Richard Linklater on the ‘Before’ trilogy—’Before Sunrise’ (1995), ‘Before Sunset’ (2004), and ‘Before Midnight’ (2013)—earned him two Academy Award nominations for Best Adapted Screenplay. Hawke also starred in Linklater’s ‘Boyhood’ (2014), a film shot over 12 years, for which he received multiple award nominations, including an Academy Award and BAFTA Award for Best Supporting Actor.
Beyond acting, Hawke has directed several films, including ‘Chelsea Walls’ (2002), ‘The Hottest State’ (2006), ‘Blaze’ (2018), and the documentary ‘Seymour: An Introduction’ (2014). He has also authored two novels, ‘The Hottest State’ (1996) and ‘Ash Wednesday’ (2002), and a graphic novel. His theatrical career is extensive, including a Broadway debut in Anton Chekhov’s ‘The Seagull’ (1992) and a Tony Award nomination for ‘The Coast of Utopia’ (2007). He co-founded the non-profit theatre company Malaparte in New York City. Recent work includes starring as Arthur Harrow in Marvel’s ‘Moon Knight’ (2022) and The Grabber in ‘The Black Phone’ (2021) and ‘Black Phone 2’ (2025).
