Nur Fazura Sharifuddin, known professionally as Fazura, was born on September 27, 1983, in Pekan, Pahang, Malaysia. She is the third of four siblings. Her father passed away when she was 17. Fazura’s career began in the Malaysian entertainment industry through television hosting roles and initial acting appearances in TV series such as ‘Datin Diaries’ and ‘Kasih Suci’. She later expanded into film, starring in ‘Gol & Gincu’, ‘Qaisy & Laila’, and ‘Lagenda Budak Setan’. Her breakout role in the film ‘Bicara Hati’ earned her the Best New Actress award at the 17th Malaysian Film Festival.
Throughout her career, Fazura has accumulated several distinguished accolades. She received the Best Supporting Actress award in 2009 and 2014 at the Screen Awards and KL Film Critics Awards, respectively. In 2014, she was named ‘Woman Of The Year’ at the H-Live Awards. Her performance in ‘Manisnya Cinta Di Cappadocia’ led to her being honored as Best Actress at both the 27th Malaysian Film Festival and the KL Film Critics Awards in 2015. The same year, she also gained recognition as the Most Popular Female Actress at the Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian 2016. Her work in television was acknowledged with the Most Popular Female Actress award at the Telenovela Awards in 2017, followed by another award in 2018 at the Anugerah MeleTOP Era for her role in ‘J Revolusi’. At the Anugerah Bintang Popular 2018, Fazura received three awards: Most Popular TV Actress for ‘Hero Seorang Cinderella’, Best Duo for TV with her then-husband Fattah, and Best Duo for Film with Zul Ariffin for ‘J-Revolusi’.
In addition to acting, Fazura has actively pursued entrepreneurial endeavors. Her interest in fashion design led to the establishment of her boutique, ‘House Of Doll’, and her fashion line, ‘Fazbulous’.
