Felissa Rose Esposito was born on May 23, 1969, in Greenwich Village, New York City, and was raised in Syosset, Long Island. Her acting career began at an early age, securing the iconic role of Angela Baker in the cult horror film “Sleepaway Camp” in 1983 when she was just 13. This debut role significantly established her as a prominent figure in the horror community. Following this early success, Rose pursued formal training in acting, gaining early admission to New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts at age 17, where she attended The Lee Strasberg Institute. Her stage work included performances in various Manhattan plays, portraying characters such as Denise Savage in “Savage in Limbo” and Desdemona in William Shakespeare’s “Othello.” Her early filmography also includes roles in Woody Allen’s “Another Woman” (1988), “The Night We Never Met” (1993), and MTV’s “The Party Phone Series” alongside Adam Sandler.
Rose later reprised her role as Angela Baker in “Return to Sleepaway Camp” (2008). Throughout her career, she has accumulated over 200 film credits, consistently working within the horror genre, earning her recognition as a “scream queen.” Notable horror film appearances include Elsa Lansing in “Silent Night, Zombie Night” (2009), Mother in “The Perfect House” (2012), Rachel Steele in “Camp Dread” (2014), Angela Freeman in “Death House” (2018), Kathleen in “Victor Crowley” (2018), Ms. Crowell in “Bloody Summer Camp” (2022), and Ms. Principe in “Terrifier 2” (2022). Beyond acting, Rose has expanded into production, notably producing several music videos for the metal band Slayer in 2016. She also co-hosted the 2005 Village Halloween Parade in New York City.
Her career includes regular appearances on “The Joe Bob Briggs Show,” “The Last Drive-In” on Shudder, and a guest appearance in The Boulet Brothers’ “Halfway to Halloween” special in 2023.
