Maude Apatow

Maude Annabelle Apatow was born on December 15, 1997. She is the eldest daughter of director Judd Apatow and actress Leslie Mann. Apatow began her acting career at a young age, appearing in films directed by her father. Her initial roles often featured her alongside her real-life mother, Leslie Mann, playing their on-screen daughter. These early appearances included a deleted scene in “The 40-Year-Old Virgin” (2005), followed by roles in “Knocked Up” (2007) and “Funny People” (2009).

Her career continued with a more significant role in the 2012 spin-off, “This Is 40,” where she reprised her character Sadie from “Knocked Up.” For her work in “This Is 40,” she received nominations for the Phoenix Film Critics Society Award for Best Young Actress in 2012 and the Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a Feature Film – Supporting Young Actress in 2013. Beyond these early projects, Apatow expanded her presence across various platforms. In 2015, she appeared as an audience member in “Pitch Perfect 2” and took on a recurring role as Cleo in three episodes of the HBO series “Girls.” The year 2017 saw her make her directorial debut with the short film “Don’t Mind Alice,” which she also co-wrote.

A significant turning point in Apatow’s career came with her role as Lexi Howard in the HBO drama “Euphoria,” which premiered in 2019. This role, specifically written for her by director Sam Levinson, brought her widespread recognition. In 2020, she co-starred in “The King of Staten Island” and appeared in the Netflix miniseries “Hollywood.” Her career has also extended to theater, with her New York theatrical debut Off-Broadway in 2023 for “Little Shop of Horrors,” followed by a West End debut in “Cabaret.” In April 2024, Apatow co-founded Jewelbox Pictures, a film and television production company, and made her feature directorial debut with “Poetic License.”
