Flex Alexander is an actor, comedian, and dancer recognized for his versatile performances across television and film, including his starring role in “One on One.” After touring for three years as a dancer with the rap trio Salt-n-Pepa in the late 1980s and early 1990s, Flex Alexander also contributed choreography for artists including Mary J. Blige and Queen Latifah. Transitioning to stand-up comedy in 1989, he made his film debut in Ernest R. Dickersons 1992 crime thriller ‘Juice.’ Alexander was a regular cast member on ‘Uptown Comedy Club’ from 1992 to 1994, securing a main cast role in the ABC sitcom ‘Where I Live’ in 1993, and guest starring on ‘Sister, Sister’ in 1994.
He expanded his filmography with roles in the 2006 action thriller ‘Snakes on a Plane,’ the 2007 horror sequel ‘The Hills Have Eyes 2,’ and the 2007 drama ‘Poor Boy’s Game.’ Alexander also made guest appearances on CBS’s ‘CSI: Miami’ in 2007 and 2010. Expanding into unscripted television, he starred alongside his wife Shanice in the reality series ‘Flex & Shanice,’ which premiered on OWN in 2014 and aired until 2016. More recently, Alexander has maintained a consistent presence in television, appearing in ABC’s ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ (2018) and joining the recurring cast of the BET+ drama ‘The Family Business’ from 2020 to 2024. In 2022, he took on the role of Pookie in the stage adaptation of ‘New Jack City: Live on Stage.’ His 2024 credits include an appearance in ‘The Ms.
Pat Show’ on BET+. Behind the camera, Alexander has served as an executive producer for ‘Lawd Have Mercy’ (2017) and co-executive producer for the documentary ‘Uptown Comedy Club: The Birth of Hip Hop Comedy’ (Completed).
