Sam Gowland

Sam Gowland was born on August 2, 1995, in Middlesbrough, England, and was raised in Thornaby-on-Tees. Prior to his television career, he worked as an oil rig worker. His entry into the public eye occurred on May 29, 2017, when he was introduced as one of the original contestants on the third series of the ITV2 dating reality competition, ‘Love Island’. During his initial participation, he was coupled with various individuals, including Camilla Thurlow and Chloë Crowhurst. He was initially “dumped” from the program on Day 23 alongside Chloë Crowhurst. However, Gowland returned to the series on Day 39, along with Mike Thalassitis, marking the first instance of contestants re-entering the villa after being dumped, a return facilitated by a public vote. He subsequently coupled with Georgia Harrison before their joint departure on Day 46, shortly before the series finale.

Following his participation in ‘Love Island’, Gowland further established his television career by joining the cast of the MTV reality show ‘Geordie Shore’. He debuted in the sixteenth series, which premiered on January 9, 2018. During his tenure on ‘Geordie Shore’, which spanned from 2018 to 2019, he was involved in various notable events within the show’s narrative, including a publicized disagreement with cast member Alex MacPherson in the seventeenth series. He voluntarily exited the house in one episode due to a minor injury but returned subsequently. His departure from ‘Geordie Shore’ was confirmed in October 2019, at the conclusion of the twentieth series, coinciding with the end of his relationship with co-star Chloe Ferry.

Beyond reality television, Gowland has engaged in other ventures. He participated in ‘Celebrity Ghost Hunt’ in 2018 as a contestant and made a guest appearance on ‘Geordie Shore OGs’ in 2019. In 2020, he featured in a celebrity special of ‘Eating With My Ex’ alongside Georgia Harrison. He also entered the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) arena, securing a victory in his debut fight at Fame MMA UK 1 on December 14, 2019, against Marty McKenna via submission (Rear-Naked Choke) in the second round. More recently, in 2024, he made a special guest appearance in the twenty-fourth series of ‘Geordie Shore’. Gowland has also developed a business presence, including property development and assisting individuals in generating secondary incomes.
