Fortune Feimster

Emily Fortune Feimster, born on July 1, 1980, in Charlotte, North Carolina, began her career in entertainment after graduating from Peace College in 2002. She moved to Los Angeles in 2003, initially working as a personal assistant and spending seven years as an entertainment journalist. Her comedic journey started at The Groundlings Theatre in 2005, where she studied improv and sketch comedy, eventually joining their Sunday Company. Her television debut came in 2010 on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” which served as a significant step in her professional development as a comedian.

Feimster became widely known as a writer and panelist on E!’s “Chelsea Lately” from 2011 to 2014, appearing in 158 episodes. This led to her role as Colette Kimball-Kinney on “The Mindy Project” for Hulu from 2015 to 2017, a role spanning 39 episodes. Her film appearances include “Office Christmas Party” (2016), “Yes Day” (2021), and “Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar” (2021). She also lent her voice to animated projects such as Pixar’s “Soul” (2020), Cartoon Network’s “Summer Camp Island” (2018-2023), and Fox’s “Bless the Harts” (2019-2021).

As a stand-up comedian, Feimster has toured globally. Her Netflix one-hour special, “Sweet & Salty” (2020), received a Critics Choice Award nomination. She has also had specials on Comedy Central and Netflix’s “The Standups” (2017). Beyond performing, she developed the pilot “Family Fortune” for ABC with Tina Fey and has sold two feature film scripts, “Bad Cop, Bad Cop” and “Field Trip,” where she is attached to star. She co-hosts “The Netflix Afterparty” with David Spade and London Hughes and hosts the podcast “Sincerely Fortune.”
