Frank Trigg

Frank Trigg has transitioned from a decorated mixed martial artist and professional wrestler to a respected referee and commentator, sharing his extensive knowledge across various combat sports platforms. After qualifying as an Olympic Trials Finalist in wrestling in 2000, Frank Trigg had already built a formidable foundation, earning a bachelor’s degree in Public Affairs and Administration from the University of Oklahoma in 1997. Following his collegiate wrestling career, he trained in Judo under Olympian Patrick Burris, achieving his first black belt. Trigg made his professional mixed martial arts debut in 1999, competing in Japan’s prestigious Pride Fighting Championships and securing a TKO victory, marking a powerful entry into the sport.

Beyond his distinguished fighting career, Trigg has made substantial contributions to combat sports as a respected official and analyst. He previously served as a color commentator for Pride FC, offering expert insights. Demonstrating his versatility, Trigg then transitioned to an MMA referee, officiating his first UFC fight in 2017. His extensive experience also includes appearances in professional wrestling with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.
