Frazer Hines

Frazer Hines has built a career as an acclaimed actor, with extensive work in television and theatre. After gaining significant recognition for his role as Jamie McCrimmon in the BBC series ‘Doctor Who’ from 1966 to 1969, Frazer Hines went on to establish himself as the longest-running companion in the original series’ history. His acting career began as a child, appearing in films such as ‘X the Unknown’ (1956) and Charlie Chaplin’s ‘A King in New York’ (1957) before the age of fifteen. In 1957, Hines played Napoleon in the six-part BBC serial ‘Huntingtower,’ followed by the role of Jan in the seven-part BBC serial ‘The Silver Sword’ (1957-1958).

In 2019, Hines starred in the audio film ‘Up Pompeii!,’ showcasing his versatility across various mediums. The following year, he featured in two episodes of ‘Doctors’ as Sonny Troughton and took a starring role in the romantic-comedy film ‘Lost at Christmas’ (2020). Most recently, Frazer Hines reprised his celebrated role as Jamie McCrimmon once again in the BBC’s ‘Tales of the TARDIS’ in 2023, continuing to engage fans with his enduring portrayal of the iconic character.
