G. Hannelius partnered with Minx to launch 'Make Me Nails,' a personalized photo-based app that sells customized nail wraps direct to consumers globally. Hannelius was inspired to create the app to make nail art more accessible and personal for young people, stating, 'I wanted to take that to the next level and really give them something more personal.'
Genevieve Knight Hannelius was born on December 22, 1998, in Boston, Massachusetts. At a young age, she developed a passion for entertaining, participating in local theater productions. Her early roles included playing Madeline in “Madeline’s Rescue” and Jenny in “Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing.” In 2008, her family relocated to Los Angeles, California, to support her acting career. She quickly began booking projects, starting with a commercial for the “Aquarium of the Pacific.” In 2009, she secured a series regular role on the ABC series “Surviving Suburbia,” where she filmed 13 episodes.
Following her time on “Surviving Suburbia,” Hannelius was sought out by Disney Channel executives. From 2009 to 2012, she appeared in various Disney Channel series, including “Sonny with a Chance,” “Hannah Montana,” “I’m in the Band,” and “Good Luck Charlie.” She also featured in the Disney Channel Original Movie “Den Brother” and lent her voice to animated films such as “Treasure Buddies” and “Spooky Buddies” as Rosebud. Her career progressed significantly when she landed the lead role of Avery Jennings in the Disney Channel series “Dog with a Blog,” which premiered in October 2012 and ran until 2015.
After her tenure with Disney, Hannelius expanded her acting portfolio with roles in Netflix’s “American Vandal” (2017) and the independent films “Day 13” (2020) and “Sid Is Dead” (2023). She also pursued entrepreneurial endeavors, launching “Make Me Nails” in 2013, an app for customized nail wraps, and her cruelty-free vegan nail polish line, G Polish, in 2019. Beyond her professional life, Hannelius is a supporter of “A Window Between Worlds,” a nonprofit organization dedicated to using art to help end domestic violence.
