Gabriel Georgiou, an Australian-born hair stylist of Greek heritage, completed his education at the Toni & Guy Academy of Hair in London. His career began with work in Hollywood, where he styled celebrities including Drew Barrymore, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Cate Blanchett, Chloe Sevigny, Robert Downey Jr., Keanu Reeves, and Joaquin Phoenix. In 1999, he accepted an offer from ‘Artist Group’ to work in Los Angeles, marking a significant step in his career within the entertainment industry. Prior to this, he gained experience freelancing in Athens and was represented by ‘Agence Creative’, working with Greek celebrities, actors, singers, models, and TV presenters, which laid the foundation for his international career.
In 2008, Gabriel Georgiou expanded his career into Bollywood. ‘Anima Creative Management’ invited him to India for a three-month trial, extending his stay due to demand. He later committed to working on Bollywood films, styling for prominent actors such as Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma, Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, and Freida Pinto. His contribution to the industry was recognized with the Vogue India Hair Stylist of the Year award in July 2014 at the Vogue Beauty Awards, and the Best Hair Expert award in October 2018 at the Elle Beauty Awards.
Throughout his career, Gabriel Georgiou has been the lead hairstylist for various films including “Bombay Velvet,” “Jab Tak Hai Jaan,” “Fighter,” “Jawan,” “Dhaakad,” and “Sanju.” He is actively involved in personal projects, including one inspired by Traditional Ancient Chinese Culture and another focused on a book collecting images and portraits of actresses and models from his twelve-year journey in the Indian fashion and film industry. His diverse portfolio reflects his ability to adapt his styling to a wide range of creative demands.
