Wesley Kanne Clark is a distinguished retired United States Army officer whose career spans over three decades, marked by significant military and political achievements. Graduating as valedictorian from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1966, Clark was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship to the University of Oxford, where he earned a degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. His military service included commanding an infantry company during the Vietnam War, where he displayed extraordinary bravery, earning a Silver Star for gallantry after being wounded in combat. Clark’s leadership culminated in his role as the Supreme Allied Commander Europe of NATO from 1997 to 2000, where he commanded Operation Allied Force during the Kosovo War, showcasing his strategic acumen in international military operations.
In 2003, Clark transitioned into politics, launching his candidacy for the 2004 Democratic presidential primaries.
