George Sampson is an English street dancer who made his name by winning the second series of Britain’s Got Talent in 2008, at the tender age of 14. Sampson has since become one of the most prominent performers in his field in the UK, and has been appointed as an official ambassador of the United Dance Organisation.
After the outstanding performance of Sampson on the televised talent show, he has gone on to a varied and exciting career in dance and performance. Shortly after winning Britain’s Got Talent, Sampson made his stage debut in the West End hip-hop musical Into the Hoods.
Sampson made regular professional appearances over the next 12 months, as his star begun to rise. He had a close professional relationship with the guru Simon Cowell at this time. And in 2009, Sampson starred in the first all-British 3D feature film StreetDance 3D.
After establishing himself as a highly talented dancer, Sampson also moved into acting, appearing in drama series such as Waterloo Road and Mount Pleasant. Sampson also continued his television career by acting in Season 2, Episode 5 of The Dumping Ground on CBBC in 2014, and later moved on to the ITV soap opera Emmerdale.
Sampson has received a variety of awards and accolades for his dancing in particular, and has proved himself to be a flexible and talented entertainer.
