Tom Felton

Tom Felton was born Thomas Andrew Felton in Epsom, Surrey, England, on September 22, 1987. He began his acting career at age eight, initially appearing in commercials for brands like Commercial Union and Barclaycard. His early feature film roles included Peagreen Clock in “The Borrowers” (1997) and Louis T. Leonowens in “Anna and the King” (1999), where he starred alongside Jodie Foster. These foundational roles paved the way for his most iconic part that brought him international recognition. Felton also demonstrated musical talent from a young age, singing in church and school choirs, an interest he continues to pursue as a musician and recording company owner.

Felton gained global fame for his portrayal of Draco Malfoy, the antagonist in the acclaimed “Harry Potter” film series, appearing in all eight films from “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” (2001) to “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2” (2011). His performance as Malfoy earned him two consecutive MTV Movie Awards for Best Villain in 2010 and 2011, establishing his presence in the industry. Following the “Harry Potter” saga, Felton expanded his filmography with diverse roles, including Dodge Landon in “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” (2011) and appearances in independent films such as “From the Rough” (2011) and “The Apparition” (2012). His career also saw him in television roles like Erich Blunt in “Murder in the First” (2015) and Julian Albert/Doctor Alchemy in “The Flash” (2016–2017).

Continuing his acting journey, Felton appeared in films like “Megan Leavey” (2017) and “The Forgotten Battle” (2020). In 2022, he made his West End theatre debut in “2:22 A Ghost Story” and published his memoir, “Beyond the Wand: The Magic and Mayhem of Growing Up a Wizard,” which topped The New York Times nonfiction best-seller list. Upcoming projects include the sci-fi/action film “Altered” (2025) and the Indian television series “Gandhi” (2025). In a significant full-circle moment, Felton is set to reprise his role as Draco Malfoy in the Broadway stage play “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” in autumn 2025, demonstrating his ongoing connection to the wizarding world that launched his career.
