Geva Mentor

Geva Mentor is a decorated netball international, celebrated for her defensive prowess and leadership, who now applies her extensive experience to coaching and public appearances. After making her senior international debut for England in 2001, Geva Mentor established herself as one of netball’s most decorated defenders, earning 175 caps for her country and participating in six Commonwealth Games. Her national career began early, selected for England at just 15 years old in 2000. Domestically, Mentor secured early success with Team Bath, winning the Super Cup in 2004 and back-to-back Netball Superleague titles in 2005–06 and 2006–07, where she was also named Grand Final MVP in the latter season.

That same year, Mentor released her autobiography, ‘Leap’. She later returned to the UK to play for Leeds Rhinos and contributed to England’s Taini Jamison Trophy win in 2021. Her lasting impact was further recognized with two Honorary Doctorates in 2022: one in Sport from the University of Chichester and another in Arts from Bournemouth University. In 2022, she officially opened The Geva Mentor Fitness Park in Bournemouth and had the honor of reading the Athletes Oath at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony.

Mentor concluded her illustrious international career following the 2023 Netball World Cup and announced her retirement from domestic competition at the end of the 2025 Netball Super League season. Transitioning her vast experience into leadership roles, she was appointed the inaugural Performance Director for Netball France in 2024, embarking on a new chapter focused on developing future talent.
