Glenn Close

Glenn Close is an acclaimed actress with a career spanning over five decades in both screen and stage, earning numerous awards and critical recognition for her versatile performances. After making her acclaimed Broadway debut in 1974 in Love for Love, Glenn Close went on to her television debut in 1975’s Great Performances. Early in her career, she received a Tony Award nomination in 1980 for her role in the musical Barnum. Close’s breakthrough into Hollywood began with her critically acclaimed performance as Jenny Fields in The World According to Garp (1982), which earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

In 2016, she was inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame, followed by a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Theatre World Awards in 2017. Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2019. In 2020, Close received the San Francisco International Film Festival’s Award for Acting and an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Hillbilly Elegy. She expanded her creative contributions as an executive producer for the 2021 feature film Cruella.
