Greg McElroy has transitioned from a BCS National Champion quarterback and NFL athlete to a prominent college football analyst and media host. After leading Carroll Senior High to a perfect 16-0 season and a Texas 5A state championship in 2005, passing for 4,636 yards and 56 touchdowns, Greg McElroy quickly established himself as a standout talent. His exceptional performance in high school earned him the Texas 5A Player of the Year and an EA Sports All-American distinction that same year. Following this success, McElroy joined the University of Alabama, where he took over as the starting quarterback in 2009, setting the stage for a period of unprecedented success.
Leveraging his profound knowledge and experience in college football, McElroy swiftly embarked on a new career as a college football analyst for ESPN’s SEC Network shortly after his retirement, with his role expanding to cover ESPN games by 2016. McElroy continued to build a prominent media presence, co-hosting the popular show ‘Thinking Out Loud’ on SEC Network for two seasons, where he provided insightful analysis and commentary. Today, he is a leading voice on regional sports radio, currently co-hosting ‘McElroy & Cubelic in the Morning’ on WJOX in Birmingham.
