Nina Myskow

Nina Myskow was born Janina Marcela Myskow on May 18, 1946, in St. Andrews, Scotland, UK. Her early years saw her move to South Africa with her parents, where she attended Wykeham Collegiate School in Pietermaritzburg, learning Afrikaans. At the age of 15, she returned to Scotland, completing her secondary education at Bell Baxter High School in Cupar. Myskow later pursued English literature at the University of St Andrews before embarking on a distinguished career in journalism and television.

Myskow established herself as a prominent figure in British media, initially as a writer for the teenage magazine “Jackie” before becoming its first female editor. Her career then transitioned to Fleet Street, where she gained recognition as a columnist for “The Sun” and the “News of the World,” often writing under the byline “The Bitch on the Box” in the 1980s. Her television career included appearances as a panellist on “Through the Keyhole” and three series of “New Faces.” She also contributed to and appeared on shows like “This Morning,” “The Alan Titchmarsh Show,” “Daybreak,” and “The Michael Ball Show.” Her autobiography, released at an unspecified date, is titled “Love, Sex and the Pursuit of Chocolate.”

Throughout her career, Myskow has been involved in significant media milestones and projects. She won a Cruise Lifestyle Feature award in the Cruise Journalism Awards. Further demonstrating her impact, her BBC Radio 4 documentary “Meet the Wainwrights” in 2020 was recognized with Best Music Special in the New York Festival of International Radio Awards. Myskow has also appeared on “Big Brother’s Bit on the Side,” and participated in a media training task within the Big Brother House in August 2012. In 2015, she won a trophy on a celebrity edition of the game show “Pointless” alongside Gyles Brandreth. More recently, she contributes regularly to GB News as a representative of the left.
